Kokondo Karate is a Japanese style
of self defense karate-juitsu. Kokondo was founded by Shihan Paul Arel who lived and taught in Connecticut. Since
the passing of Shihan Arel, Kaicho Greg Howard has abely assumend leadership of the International Kokondo Association. Kokondo
dojo’s can be found around the world and the membership of devoted Kokondo Ka is growing rapidly. Unlike
other styles, men and women are treated equally. No distinction is made for men or women in either in rank
or abilities. Emphasis is placed on the practice
of realistic self defense using only the most authentic and effective techniques of the karate styles of Japan, Okinawa, and
China.
Safety is placed at the highest priority.
